A review of Maharaja by Sam L written on Saturday 19th of December 2009

The experience I and a friend had in this establishment was the worst I have ever experienced in any restaurant in the world. I am not exaggerating. We were seated shortly before the restaurant closed and told to order quickly, which seemed reasonable. We ordered quickly and the poppadoms were delivered soon after. Unfortunately a minute later they were whisked away as well as the condiments. This was outrageous practice so were aggrieved at this point. The main courses arrived straight after which looked like they were going to be quite tasty. However at this point the waiting staff decided to line up four abreast staring at us from a distance of 2 metres - not the most comforting or relaxing behaviour. We asked the waiter if his staff could retreat to a less intimidating distance. They refused to do this, and so with regret we left the Marharaja. The one mouthful I tasted was good so it seems the manager and his staff are badly letting down his customers and his kitchen staff. .
