"Tesco steals banana from little boy"

A review of Tesco Superstore by Hunter Hampton written on Wednesday 9th of June 2010

At Newmarket road Cambridge Tesco’s at 11.38 am on 8/06/10 I was shopping with my partner and son in Tesco having a nice day out. We come to the pay yourself check outs and started to walk out the door when stopped by security. He said in a power tripped voice “ have you paid for that banana” he was talking to a little boy of 1 years old he had taken it with out me or his mum noticing and started eating. The security guard was not very old early 20’s and obviously was on a power trip. Any real person would let us of go without paying for this 15p banana to give a family image of Tesco’s and build loyalty between my family and Tesco’s. However the guard insisted that we paid so I went back picked out the smallest banana went and paid for it 15p and handed the banana to the guard who wasn’t wearing a name badge. Therefore I demanded his name and to speak to a manager which he didn’t give me either. At this point as a business student I was telling him about loyalty and how Tesco’s has lost a potential customer that has a growing family, why would a multi-national company which competes on loyalty not give a free banana to us? They would and that’s that which shows that this immature security staff was the wrong person employed for the job and is giving a Tesco’s an even worse name. .
