"Mr Paul Foley is not really bothered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

A review of Aldi by Mr Robert Bruce written on Friday 29th of April 2011

This letter was sent to the customers services manager (Mr PAUL FOLEY's Dept) on 24 3 11 and was received and signed for by a Mr/Mrs Hawkeswood on 28 3 11. Yet I have still not received any type of communication, which I feel is almost as rude as the issue I complained about.The letter included Address Telephone number and E mail.

Dear Sir or Madam,

It saddens me to have to write this, as we have always had a great rapport with the members of your staff. We have shopped at your store in Ipswich every week since it opened and that must be 10 or 12 years now. The reason we make the 38 mile round trip is, we like three things : 1. Your products which are always top quality , 2. your price always competitive and 3. the no frills, which enables you two achieve the first two. I always use a very large shopping bag which fits exactly the inside of the trolley. I fit inside the trolley as I arrive at the till so that the supervisor / checkout assistant can see the trolley is completely empty .

Then we normally have a race as he / she puts the items through the bar-code scanner I reload the trolley. Just like today I had finished and my wife was waiting to put her debit card in the machine, when the assistant said, “You don’t do that here, you pack over there. I said excuse me, I have been coming here every week since you opened and never had a problem. Her response was to pick up a notice and thrust it in inch from my nose.

I know your staff work hard and can get frustrated with some customers who take there time; The person in front of us, had been one such customer. I do not however accept that gives her the excuse to be rude to any one else. We have always enjoyed shopping at your stores be it here or abroad in other European countries. It was a case of write this letter and get it off my chest or never patronise your stores again. So it was obvious to chose the former. I have sent this recorded post so that I can be sure that it arrives. I await your response.
