A review of Tatties Café Restaurant by Graham Newman written on Sunday 9th of October 2011
We went some while ago to this restaurant, and while expensive we felt the food was quite fair. On this occasion, however, we had an appalling experience. My wife ordered a baked potato with sausage and beans, and when it eventually arrived the sausages were almost raw! We asked for it to be exchanged, and the waitress went off with the plate, only to bring it back several minutes later (less sausages) to say that they were being grilled and would follow later. We again complained - we wanted the meal served complete, not getting cold while waiting for sausages to be cooked - wherupon a young lad with an appalling attitude grabbed the plate and marched off into the kitchen muttering under his breath. A few minutes later, he returned and slapped a plate down on the table and walked off. This turned out to be the same meal, but with so many beans poured onto the plate that the potato and most of the salad was covered and beans were starting to drip off the side of the plate (imagine the contents of an entire tin of beans being poured on a standard plate - this is what it was like). We eventually got our money back - though no apology (the young lad could see nothing wrong with the food or his attitude and just kept repeating that they were busy!)
Never again!
