I must say the service is quite dependant on the member of staff serving you. I found the three members of staff I encountered to be qute polite. One friendly but a bit stuffy, one relaxed and friendly and the other warm and friendly. 
 
I was undecided on my purchase during the first visit and felt the member of staff a little too stuffy. The attitude seemed to be - I don't think you'll buy the garment. The size seems fine, but if you want it altered we can do it for you. - I was told the sale price would only be valid for a short time. 
 
On the second visit I was left to try on the garment and when approached by a different member of staff he quickly said the sleeve size was too long. Again he informed me about their alteration service. The third member of staff passed and made a friendly warm comment, and moved on. 
 
I was offered a tailoring service at a very reasonable price and free UPS delivery. 
 
First class service, great quality of garment and friendly staff. 
 
As I was undecided on my first visit I can excuse the first sales assistant's somewhat stuffy approach. 
 
I would recommend Ede & Ravenscroft without reservation.
