"Review of Siam Thai Restaurant"
A review of Siam Thai Restaurant by Alex - Tuesday 30th of November 1999
I went to this place for Valentine's day, and was thrilled to find that not only was the service very efficient and friendly (on a busy night!), but that it was one of the few restaurants in Cambridge that didn't have an extortionately expensive, compulsory 'Valentine's Day Special Set Meal'. What they did have, on the other hand, was seriously good Thai food. My seafood green curry had sweet, juicy king prawns, and all manner of maritime goodness within, while the curry sauce was perfect, just the right balance of sweet, sour and hot. My date's chicken in sweet and sour sauce was delicious; tender chicken, and sauce which was sharp and tasty, rather than the glutinous mess that normally styles itself 'sweet and sour'. The decor is lovely, and the prices very reasonable for the standard of food (£7 - £8.50 for main courses, rice £2.50). Recommended for romantic meals out, and for larger groups.
