"Not great at putting your mind at ease"

After reading the two reviews below me I have to agree. I'm a male in my mid 30's. I don't go to the doctor unless I absolutely feel I have to and Arbury Road makes it incredibly difficult.

For example, one time I had pains where my heart is and shooting pains in my arm. These are commonly known as symptoms of something serious and of course I worried. I was told on the phone it's probably anxiety and to come back in a week if it's not better. While it probably was anxiety, it was my heart. I wanted to pop in, have someone actually look at me, take my blood pressure etc and assure me I was ok.

Another time I had an emergency and was booked an appointment just before close. I waited in the reception when the doctor i had booked with came out and asked if i was waiting for someone. Seems the reception hadnt communicated the appointment to him, and i was told 'sounds like a muscular problem, go to a and e if it gets worse'.

Finally I suffered a bad fall and hit my head on concrete. I called for an emergency appointment and was given a nurse. She was lovely and I was happy with her as a nurse, but upon seeing my dentist who asked me if i had x-rays, diagnosed a dent in my cheek and asked me about my vision and moods, I realised that doctors probably should be dealing with head injuries not a nurse. I mean, I got a flu vaccine jab. I probably needed it and I was fine with it, but if i suddenly fainted and died after leaving the surgery, it wouldn't do me much good.

I called to speak to a doctor to see if i should get an x-ray, and was put on hold for 16 minutes before the phone hung up and i had to go through the whole waiting thing again. Can't be bothered.. let's just hope i don't die..
