""Throw it away""A review of Townsends Cycle Shop by Bjorn - Tuesday 16th of September 2003Advertisements
The bracket of my bike broke. Ok, it wasn't a very good bike. One of Mike's Bikes student deals. But it had lasted for 2 years and apart from that defect was still ok. A friend of mine recommended Townsends because they were friendly and fixed her bike. (in contrast to University Cycle - her experience or Halfords and Ben Hayward - my experience) When I called, all I got was the announcement that they are busy for the next two weeks and the hint that I should through that bike away, since it's rubbish. Townsends - that was it for me. But in general bike shops in Cambridge seem to lead a quite luxurious life, so no need put customer service high priority. Mike's Bikes is really the only place where you actually feel like a customer, not a beggar. I have no idea what happens when you buy a bike there, but it may be different, but I can only assume that you can buy excellent non-rubbish super-quality shiny bikes there at very good prices which last forever. |
