Heffers has a cheap and cheerful selection of videos to hire. Although they only have one copy of each film (including new releases), I've never minded waiting a couple of days or just getting something else instead. They have a great slection of foreign films too and they are much much cheaper than Blockbuster. The only downfall is that you have to return the video by 5.30pm the next day even if you drop it in through their letterbox, otherwise they charge you another day's rental. I argued with an assitant over this as their sign is misleading and says you can return the video in the drop-box at no extra charge. A year on and the sign still hasn't changed however they are far less commercial than Blockbusters and a fraction of the price.
