Following other reviews of Chez Gerard, I expected something special. Unfortunately this was not what I got. I tried the snails and they weren't really worth it but I don't think this was down to the chef.I think they would taste like garlicky rubber no matter where I tried them. As for the rest of the food, it was ok although I can make better at home and wouldn't charge my dinner guests as much as Chez Gerard. The wine was the most dissapointing. We had an average bottle of Chardonnay that I wouldn't have payed more than a fiver for at a supermarket but it cost about Â£14 (don't quote me on that, I may be a bit out). On a positive note, the decor was nice and the staff were friendly.
