"Rudest staff I've EVER encountered..."

Last night I had undoubtedly the worst experience I have ever had in all my years of dining out. After having three or four waiters hovering around our table looking extremely impatient, and having each dish immediately taken from us before the last mouthful was even finished, a gentleman who looked like the manager came across and asked us if we would kindly drink our beers in one and settle up as they wanted to free the table up!!!
I thought this a very rude request indeed as we had ordered a lot of food and spent a lot of money, and had polished the lot off in under 25 minutes - it wasn't like we were hanging around for over an hour (which itself would not be at all unreasonable on a Friday night). Approximately ever three or four minutes or so a different waiter would then approach our table and ask us the same thing (four in total!) until I explained that we had spent a lot of money, eaten relatively quickly, and had no intention of gulping down our beers which we had paid good money for.
Four or five of them then hung around watching us until we eventually decided to cut our losses and up and leave rather than stay somewhere with such incredibly rude people. To top it off they slammed the door closed on us, catching my arm. I'm still very angry about this treatment and would advise anyone against eating somewhere where short-term money-making is clearly valued over and above the dining experience of the customer.
