"Praise where praise is due!"

A review of Marshall Motor Group by Malcolm Harmer - Thursday 20th of November 2003

Last year I decided to change my ancient vehicle and very tentatively went for a look at the Landrover dealership at Marshalls. I was not expecting to actually be able to afford one, just always admired them - particularly the Freelander!

I was given much information and advice covering new and pre-owned Freelanders and was treated with such courtesy and professionalism, that I went back a week or two later. Every detail was dealt with and every query answered in a straightforward way. I always felt that I was in control and everyone appeared genuinely pleased to see me over the ensuing couple of weeks, by which time I had settled on a pre-owned TD4 Station Wagon ES.

The team set up everything from the finance to very competitive insurance, arranged superguard, everything. I was even allowed to go down to the prep shop and see my 'new' vehicle going through the processes prior to collection.

On the day, the weather was a little miserable and I was amazed to collect the vehicle from inside the showroom, "so we would be more comfortable." My wife was presented with a super bouquet of flowers, the vehicle was absolutely immaculate and literally gleamed from the windows to inside the wheel arches. Since then, the vehicle has performed faultlessly and we are thrilled to bits with it. 12 months down the line and driving it is as great a pleasure as the first day.

Just to cap it all - and my primary reason for writing this review - I have just received the vehicle back from it's annual service. OK, it's not cheap, but no more expensive than anyone else either! The point is that the service I received brought back the memories of my original encounter with Marshall's. The vehicle was collected by Tony, who was very pleasant and polite. A clean Freelander was left for me to use for the day. My car was returned at the time promised, after a 'phone call to check that this was still acceptable. It had been cleaned prior to delivery - in and out - and, what really impressed me, was they found the broken clip on the 'toffee box' between the front seats and replaced it. My wife had inadvertantly caught it some months before! Nothing was said to me, no charge, I just found it done. Now that's what I call attention to detail! Oh and the service bill was a little less than they originally said it would be!

Marshall Landrover? I'd recommend them to anyone. Marvellous people!
