"Junction not safe"
A review of The Junction by BSc - Saturday 29th of November 2003
After recent events that have occoured at this place i am very concerned with the attitue and bad professionalism of the staff supposedly looking after its clubbers. Surely clubbers shouldn't feel vulnrable and unprotected yet with recent articles within a number of newspapers once again fears of an unorganised security system including staff, equipment and health and safety matters is clearly of concern to us all. This amazingly hasn't been delt with yet to a satisfactory level.
Any attempt to try and suggest such matters to this establishment have been withdrawn and rudely disregarded as they do not, obviously, want bad publicity. This has even gone to the extent that security guards have turned a `blind eye' to many perfectly feasable harrasment cases.
As a young clubber myself i have recently discoverd other serious cases within this venue. The recent attack on a male i found most disturbing as, like a previous assult on a young girl, inwhich the security were perfectly aware and present at the actual time waching these events occur. This, unadoutably, is disgracefull. How can security allow this to take place. Surely it's more than a case of "job's worth". I cannot beleive that if i were to go clubbling here that `security' would see such events, allow then to continue happening and actually help and assist in letting the attacker continue behaving in such a serious manner by letting it happen "outside" or by just having some kind of personal vendetta against them.
Thankfully this place is due to close down. But i'm sure the staff of this place will continue to supposidly protect us is in new location just a few metres nextdoor. Those who i will not `name amd shame' at this particular time and who i know are still working in similar positions in probably unaware establishments just cannot be trusted to help. It is a disgrace to them, the establishment they currently work at and eventually will give a bad image to the night life of Cambridge.
