A review of The Atrium Club by dee written on Tuesday 30th of December 2003

I have been a member of four other gyms previously and find the Atrium to be the best equipped for equipment, the cleanest and with the longest serving, friendliest staff. It is also by far the cheapest (and they provide towels).

When I first joined when the Cambridge club had just opened, I was struck by the economical materials used in the decor. It was a sharp contrast to my previous club with its wood finish lockers, coloured tiles and glass shower doors, and its carpet in the gym area.

However, it was obvious that the Atrium spent its money where it matters - in the gym equipment.

The staff are always visible in the gym, but do not bother you if you want to do your own thing. The members are a diverse group of all ages and shapes with no posers (at least at lunchtimes when I go) so it is not intimidating.

I would recommend it to anyone who wants to work out on a great range of equipment with the support of great staff if you want them. If you want to play at going to a health club and not spoil your designer kit with sweat go somewhere else..
