Further to the comments by 'Catherine', be aware that this building saga continues today, some 3 years after it started!

Two recent articles in the Cambridge News regarding this issue:

The saga of the planning department's continued inaction is further documented in this article. Despite the Maliks' track record, no action is taken to halt on-going building and basement excavation work, being done without planning permission.

- 22-Dec-2003 article: http://w3.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/story.asp?StoryID=45124
Planning permission is finally granted (retrospectively), despite protests from local residents. This in spite of Mr. Malik's public claim that he has planning permission anyway... a claim refuted by Peter Carter, the council's principal planning officer.
