""No comprende" at the drive through!"
A review of McDonalds by Mike - Thursday 15th of January 2004
I just visited my local McDonalds here in Northern California - yes, I know, a bit mistake! As has become so typical here, the Hispanic accent of the woman taking my order was so thick that I could barely understand her. Obviously I didn't because my order was not right. The best part was when she said "Have a nice day." If I had not been expecting her to say something like this, I would NOT have understood her at all. I sent email to McDonalds a while back about this kind of thing, and obviously they don't think it's important anymore. Maybe we should be more like the French, and make clear English (OK, American English) the standard language here! Mike
