"Parkside Community College"
A review of Parkside Community College by Year 8 Pupil 2004 - Monday 5th of April 2004
I have been a pupil at Parkside Community College for 2 years now. It is a great school which understands the different needs for different pupils. The teachers are nice and are there for you when you go through bad times.
The school is aiming to have an interactive whiteboard in every classroom these are whiteboards which act like a computer an come with a software alowing pupils to use aswell as teachers. We have laptops for both sites which alows us to research when in class and to research by ourselfs.
Parkside is a comfortable size of a school it is not to big and not to small, pupils feel safe and comfortable at Parkside, being a state school Parkside has nearly everything to be a private school apart from it's free.
Parkside pupils do exceptionaly well in their GCSE's which makes me feel more confident that i am going to do well in life.
The majority of pupils around Parkside descirbed it as Rich,small and ugly.
Parkside has an answer for everything they deal with bullying - anonymously if that is what you prefere and have a system of us having to have witnesses so our problems are fully backed up.
I think any parent should send their child to Parkside whether they're English, French, Chinese or Japanese etc. My friend is Japanese and she is geting on very well and her English is coming along very well.
The subjects include: English-drama, Media Studies, French, Science, Humanities-Geography History R.E PSHE, DT-I.T FOOD MAKE BUILD PHOTOGRAPHY ART P.E- DANCE GYMNASTICS SPORT and Maths.
Here is a statement from a Chinese pupil who has just learnt English:
Parkside Community Colloge is a great school which helps you study well but without too many pressures. This school will become a Foundation school which mean Parkside will be much much richer.Parkside will gave lots of appotunitys for the people who can not speak english well, e.g. Learning Support Homework Club, the english club at every thursday and many many more.
