"A vey rude manager"
A review of Charlie Chan by sue - Sunday 11th of April 2004
I arrived at Charlie chan with 5 other people. The veg springrolls arived and they were v. petite, I ate them in 2 bites!
Then the main dishes arrived. My main dish was average, however, my other two friends both ordered Pork with ginger and spring onions. The pork was very fatty and was just not edible. They never ate it and I complained to the waitress, ' I will tell the chef she said'. Nothing happened, she never returned.
We finished eating and I complained again, ' I will cancel it from the cheque' the other waiter said (but still no apologies).
The cheque arrived and I went to the counter and said, "I know you've cancelled the two pork dishes but why should we pay for the two rice when we never ate the two dishes?" At that point the manager grabbed the cheque from me (an extremely rude manager!), subtracted the rice from the cheque and also adjusted the 'optional service charge' at which point my partner said, 'we're not paying service charge'. Then the manager said, 'OK pay your bill and go! get out! we don't like customers who complain about our food!'
What was supposed to be an nice evening out on an Easter weekend turned into an argument in the middle of the restaurant! We just could not believe how rude the manager was. We did not complain uneccesarily.
We got our last laugh however, when a party of 10 walked in, overheard us argue with the manager and walked back out again. Very wise cutomers!
