"Customer Service? what's that?"
A review of B & Q by Aasiabibi - Wednesday 28th of April 2004
Having just moved house I have been going to B&Q a lot lately. Service has been poor all too often (that's IF you can find an assitant to assit you!). After purchasing some garden items I was charged double the price for them at the till than it said on the shelf. I pointed this out to the girl on the till and she just scanned it in again and said I was wrong. I was not to be palmed off so quickly! I went to the customer service till, the lady there did just the same and said I was wrong, So I then asked her to go to the shelf and have a look, she did so, and lo and behold I was right, but she didn't say a word to me (not a single word of apoplogy!), but just gave the items to a girl on the till instructing her to refund me the difference. I was annoyed because it was only through my own persistance that I got this money back at all. This was the second time that week I had been overcharged. Learning from this experience, on another occasion , I bought some bath taps from B&Q and when I got home found they were broken, I took them back for an exchange but there was no more left on the shelf, so I asked an assistant, who palmed me off with the 'we've only got what's out' line, so I went and asked the same question to another assistant, who, went to the stock room and miraculously found another! What do you say to that Mr B & Q?
