Today 7th June 04, at approximately 1.30 pm, I was unlucky enough to experience the most horrible incident with a Royal Mail van driver. He turned from Histon Rd into Linden Close, and as there were cars parked on his left, he took the middle of the road to drive down. There were three cars going up Linden Close, but this driver would not considered giving way to any of us by stopping in a big gap to his left. Instead he shouted at us to get out of the way and I had to go on the paviment to be able to go pass him. This attitude showed that this man did not have any consideration for the public while performing his duties and we felt that in such driving conditions he should have been more willing to negociate a solution and not shout at us to get on the paviment if we wanted to go through. I believe that someone working for a public organisation should bear in mind that he/she is representing that organisation at that point in time and the actitude to the public should be one of respect and politeness. THis Van driver (reg: EKO4...) was arrogant, careless, and uncompromising behaving in an obstructive way and almost coarsing people into driving in the wrong places. We stopped to discuss this driver's behaviour and we all agreed that the Royal Mail should spend some time with this cowboys instructing them that while working they should have respect for the public, drivers and be able to look after the reputacion of the organisation they worked for. As it happened we were all representing three different organisations, so we just let him get way with it! Sorry I have used this place to put my complaint as I could not find anywhere in your website, where such a complaint should be posted. I hope someone does something about this Many thanks |
