A review of Scruffs Hairdressing by Holly Golightly - Tuesday 22nd of June 2004
I have been going to Scruffs for about two years now, and have had various people do my hair but my favourite hairdresser is Rachel. She is only part time but I make sure I go when shes there as she is superb. I never get a bad cut or hair colour when she does my hair.
I did have a small issue there once when Rachel wasn’t there to do my colour (big mistake) so I went with a young trainee girl. Well she did my blonde highlights and I specificly asked for the roots to be touched up as these were dark, well when she came to dry it off I noticed the roots were still dark at the front and quite obvious, and for £60+ for colour you expect a decent job done. Well she noticed I wasn’t happy with it and said she would put a bleach on top of that for 10 minutes which would lift the colour and should get rid of the dark roots.
Well of course when that was done the colour did not match the rest of my blonde hair colour as bleach on dark blonde hair like mine just makes it go brassy orange.
So I went home still not sure but then got really upset when I examined it close up, the colour was pretty obviously not the same as the rest of my hair colour overall.
So I rang Scruffs up the next day and spoke to the Manager and compained and he said she will have to correct the hair colour again as the other girls don’t like to do other peoples mistakes and its good for her to learn from her mistake by doing it again.
Although I thought this a bit stupid as she might make the same mistake again, but this time it was ok and I was happy. But then this could have happened in any salon I would just beware of the trainees, everyone makes mistakes but always make sure you leave happy with your haircut and colour!
