"Lights out early in footlights...."
A review of Footlights Restaurant & Bar by Sara - Tuesday 3rd of August 2004
Myself and some friends had a meal monday evening here and were extremely dissapointed with the level of service.To begin with, sauces accompanying the starters ordered were missing.Upon requesting the dips/sauces, we were told to begin with that the sauce did not exist on the menu, when it clearly did. We were then told that they had run out , and only after perserverance were we offered 'alternative' dips.Then we ordered some drinks, only to find that most of the mocktails that were previously offered were missing from the menu.The staff seemed quite inexperienced, as the till system crashed and they asked my friend to add up the drinks tab. The last straw was when we were told that we would have to leave about 9.50pm because they had to catch their buses when it clearly stated that the restaurants closing time was at 11pm during the week. As a consequence, we had to leave most of our drinks. We complained the following day, the reason given behind the early closure being that of 'staff shortages', something which could have been explained before we sat down to order. All in all, a thouroughly appaling evening, a shame considering it used to be a fun place to have a meal.
