"Good credit card management – Halifax"
A review of Halifax by DeeJayTee - Wednesday 1st of September 2004
I have had a credit card with the Halifax for some years now and continue to be happy with the service offered. They recently increased my credit limit and therefore, I am happy to say, this enabled me to transfer my balance from an old frozen card by another bank – I will not mention their name here but I am glad not to be with them any more. This meant a fresh account with all the trimmings and no worries about late charges if I am a few days late in paying and so on. Many banks, or at least some, are quite strict about this. I have noticed Halifax are quite flexible and this does them a great credit, if you’ll excuse the pun. I also have a bank account with them and this has been run very smoothly. My brother used to work for them a while ago, which was the reason I opened it in the first place. But I continue to be pleasantly surprised by the helpfulness of staff in answering queries. Further to this they have online facilities which are second to none. I was a little sceptical about using the facilities, even as a graduate in Computer science. However, I have had no problems with the service and it has meant I can operate my account whenever I like and do most reasonable things you’d expect to be able to do without authorisation. Things like increasing overdrafts are still done in person, letter, or phone. However, such things as transferring money between accounts and to other people’s account’s is very easy. The best thing is that the whole thing seems to be very secure and, as I have found with other banks, there have been no errors (unfortunately not even in my favour). That can’t be bad.
