I have only recently got into the betting game and it is a lot of fun. Some will say it’s a fools game but as long as you get to know your chosen sport, and I know quite a bit about football, then you can make more than you lose.
I regularly go to Bob Dixon C B as I live nearby and it’s a nice diversion on a Saturday afternoon to watch the results come in and count your winnings. I have gotten to know some of the staff there, which is a relatively easy thing to do as they are a friendly bunch of people. I have never had any problems with paying out and because I know them they sometimes offer me a tab, which is good.
Far from being a smoky, dingy place that I grew up to believe the bookmakers of the world to be, it is a fresh clean place and very welcoming. It was interesting to see that they have recently included a bookmakers in Eastenders, which my wife loves, but the one depicted is run by a shady wheeler dealer. Bob Dixon C B is not like that at all, it sanitises the betting industry and has provided me with a pleasant past time. You never know, you may see Pat Butcher in there some day…
