"Neighbour nightmare - glad I had insurance"
A review of HSBC Bank by Anonymous - Wednesday 15th of September 2004
I have had home contents insurance with Midland/ HSBC for some years now and have never needed to claim until recently. I have had a good claims record for insurance and usually keep my no claims bonus for some years. However I had to claim on this occasion as my annoying neighbour in the flat above me flooded my home. I was just waking up for work and came into the kitchen to find it inches deep in water and drips coming through the light fitting. The carpet was ruined and I had to have the ceiling and walls repainted. The washing machine that my neighbour owned had it pipes burst. Of course, she wasn’t going to pay for it, she didn’t think it was her fault. In a way it wasnt but it didnt help me and she was a complete nightmare. Its nice to know that the financial institution can step in and sort your problems out for you in a world of ignorant selfish people. The premiums were cheap and the cover was good, as was customer service. No quibbles, they just sent someone round straight away. I would recommend HSBC for insuarance to anyone.
