If Tammy girl isn't your thing, then don't go there.
The punk or goth looks are cool but lots of people go for that so if you do too you'll just be another sheep.
Why not mix and match what you like?
I'm sure you're more interesting than any clothes you might wear.
:)

BTW, I have tiny feet so kids' shops are unfortunately one of the only places I can get shoes, so I don't mind Tammy girl. I do prefer Etam though, which is the woman's version of the same brand.
It's reasonably priced and has a decent range of stuff.
