"Ruined Valentines Day"
A review of Krua Thai by Robert Seber - Tuesday 15th of February 2005
We weren’t offered drinks or given a menu for the first 30 minutes. We ordered drinks, but after about 15 minutes were told that the ones we’d ordered weren’t available, but we could have two free glasses of (cheap) wine, which arrived shortly after. We ordered a red duck curry with rice and a vegetable side dish. About 40 minutes later the red duck curry arrived, but was stone cold. We complained and they took it away. About 15 minutes later they bought it back microwaved. We waited about 15 minutes for the rice and vegetable dish to arrive, by which time the duck curry had gone cold again, then complained that we wanted the rice with the curry. They finally brought us the rice, but forgot the vegetable dish and had to be reminded again. To its credit the curry sauce was delicious, but the duck was all gristle and fat, and little meat. I asked to see the manager, but they never appeared. The staff are friendly, but overworked and ineffectual. If waiting ages to eat expensive cold, gristly curry without rice is your thing, then maybe Krua Thai is the place for you.
