"Olan Mills is cheap & "Fattening""
A review of Olan Mills by Susan - Tuesday 9th of August 2005
My family had our portrait done for our church directory this evening. The photographer immediately put my husband on a box behind me, so he would appear much taller than myself, which is not accurate. The photographer then had me stand 3/4 to the camera. At this point alarms went off in my head because the worst possible way to shoot a woman is at 3/4--getting the fattest combination of both hips and belly. I am a size 8 with a narrow face and long blond hair. The photos they took were against a ghastly blue background and I appeared to be about a size 14-16 and my face was utterly devoid of any interesting shadows or depth. It was a nightmare to say the least. I looked gigantic. I have very fair skin and never photograph well because of this. The photographer was amatuer and did not allow us any re-takes during that sitting. My beautiful, tiny little 9 year old cheerleader daughter looked like a washed out stoner, and my husband's face looked strangely swollen. I would never recommend Olan Mills for portraits. Gahstly!
