Corpus Clock

Benet Street, Cambridge.

A piece of public art on the corner of Trumpington Street and Bene't Street, the Corpus Clock consists of a 1.5m gold-plated disc topped by a metal insect-like creature named the 'Chronophage' (literally "time eater"), which itself forms the world's largest grasshopper escapement. The clock has no hands or numbers, but displays the time by illuminated slits in the clock face. Based in Benet Street, Cambridge, Corpus Clock is a local attraction.
