A review of Midsummer House by Kate Janssens written on Tuesday 22nd of April 2003
My husband and I ate at Midsummer House this weekend and were utterly impressed.
Although the a la carte menu is quite pricey at £45 per person the food was extremely creative, cooked to perfection and presented beautifully.
We found ourself looking up at every plate that came from the kitchen to catch a glimpse of yet another miniature piece of art.
We found the service friendly, professional and discrete and got some excellent advice from the restaurant's sommelier. All in all an very pleasant evening.
Although I was not very happy having to give my credit card number to make the reservation I was advised over the phone that I would be charged for the meal regardless of whether we turned up. Admittedly a rather strange practice but it was definitely made clear from the beginning.
