"A quick service with flaws"

As an artist new to the digital media, the first time I came to have my work professionally printed should have been an exciting one! Unforetunately, the service they provided, while at a fairly good price, was I felt hasty to get the job done, and did not sufficently include me in the process itself. To get high quality digital prints requires the customer to understand the print process (and a copy of Photoshop helps too!). These people do not, however, like to be questioned about what exactly they do downstairs!

When I came to pick up my prints, they had cropped the paper right to the edge of the printed matter. This had given me no way of framing the picture later on. No truly professional shop would have assumed you wanted a print physically cropped to the image. Ridiculous! To compound this, they did not have anything onsite in which to take away these A3 prints. A dash downstairs again provided a flattened cardboard box, prints sandwiched inside. Unacceptable!

I have since learnt at lot more about getting what I want from printed matter, but that does not excuse the attitude I received, nor the impression I was left with. Business stands or falls on how people feel about the service they have received - and that costs them nothing!!

My advice (since they have no website I can find): know exactly what you want, how it is done - and ask them flat what their method is. If you get anything less - walk away!.
