A review of Aldi by Mrs Angry written on Sunday 19th of February 2006
I have just returned from my local Aldi Store absolutely furious!
I bought a reading lamp from the store a few months ago. Although satisfactory initially, it has now ceased to work. I have tried replacing the bulb checking the fuse and plug etc., so it is cleary faulty.
An extremely rude and obnoxious Manager informed me that unless I could produce a receipt for the lamp, there was absolutely nothing he could do about it. This is Company policy.
I then asked him what he thought I was supposed to do with a reading lamp that wouldn't work. He advised me that if I could produce a bank statement this would be enough evidence to support my purchase and he would then decide on what course of action to take.
Obviously, this would involve contacting my bank and then being charged for this service.
This is grossly unfair practice and I am appalled by their attitude..
