A review of Starbucks by Jacko written on Tuesday 14th of March 2006

Starbucks - the McDonalds of coffee. This is not popular in New Zealand where, contrary to popular opinion they do know about good coffee. The reason for this is that Auckland alone has over 70 individual boutique roasters. New Zealanders treat coffee like wine and frankly Starbucks is looked down upon because its coffee is cr*p and overpriced, its food is mass produced, unimaginative and processed (which is probably part of its appeal to Americans and Brits who don't seem to share a close relationship with anything fresh). That's just my opinion of course. .
