A review of La Margherita by Roman Arrantes written on Tuesday 11th of July 2006
I am a food critic for a prominant UK Newspaper and I am genuinely fair with my reviews.
This was the worst Italian restaurant I have visited. I can only be honest and my opinion is that the food was bland and the menu was limited and unexciting.
The service was however well intentioned in adaquate and when I asked for the house wine to be taken back before drinking any, the waiter refused.
Why take the wine back, well I ordered the house red wine which was unspecified. I usually expect a £11 bottle of house wine to be reasonable, say with a true value of £5minimum. The wine brought out was Alpa.
For those that dont know this Alpa is regarded as being in the top ten worst wines made or sold!! It costs £2.50 a bottle at my local shop!!
If you would like an authentic and non pretentious Italian experience do not visit the Margherita, yo will be deeply dissapointed..
