I was sceptical at first considering all the universal remotes I've seen are $100+ and this one I purchased for $9.99 at ALDI. I have several old appliances the Philips Tv being the oldest at 16 yrs

and Philips VCR at 12yrs of age and using the learning function was simple, quick and the unit works brilliantly. Not sure how long it will last but at least I don't need 3 remotes now to watch a dvd or video cassette through my tv..
