At Aldi the main reason for items being so cheap is there low levels of staff. This sometimes leads to abbrupt answers from some of its employees, as they generally have ten times the workload of employees of other retailers and therfore dont have time to chat and take time with customers. So you choose either have quality goods saving you a good 40% on your bill with a no frills approach to the shopping experience or pay over the odds for hidden costs such as plastic bags...'trolley managers' and other costs which you pay for indirectly! .
