A review of Peking Restaurant by Nicola C written on Wednesday 4th of April 2007
Yes, it's expensive, but if you choose carefully, you'll get your money's worth. Don't order the prawn toasts - they're not homemade, and no different to any other Chinese take-away, and therefore not worth the price tag. However, the deep fried squid in chilli batter is a mountain of squid and represents value. Equally good are the Hunan prawns, Dan Dan noodles (superb!) and Pork with aubergine. Special fried rice is too dear - we order egg fried or plain boiled. It's not somewhere most of us can afford to go often, but as a treat, it's well worth it. .
