"2 HOUR WAIT FOR LUNCH and rude landlady!"

A review of The Alma by Impatient? written on Wednesday 4th of July 2007

I used to like the Alma which makes a pretty good pizza.

However, after a group of of us had lunch there on a weekday my opinion has changed, and I won't be going back. Granted the pub was busy although, not full -when ordering we were told our food "wouldn't be too long," which I now realise was too subjective a measure, After 2 HOURS of waiting, with no update from the bar staff, I asked the obvious question and was scolded by the landlady. Apparently, I should have "looked around" and noted that they were busy.. ( and expected to wait 2 hours on my presumably infinite lunch break?). To make matters worse they didn't even have a record of some of our orders, so some of us could still be waiting if we didn't ask. We were begrudgingly refended our money with a side of attitude...again it's a shame as I used to like the place..
