A review of The Rupert Brooke by Maureen Brown written on Sunday 22nd of July 2007
We went to the Rupert Brooke today while visiting our daughter in Cambridge. What a lovely place!
We decided to make the most of the little bit of nice weather we are having and sit in the garden overlooking the meadows.
I chose the seabass fillets served with Cromer crab cake and Norfolk samphire which was delicious. My husband is more traditional and went for the roast rib of beef which we were advised is cooked pink unless we preferred it more well done. This he proclaimed was 'proper beef' not the frozen, reheated rubbish that other pubs seem to dish up on Sundays. My daughter went for the Skyros salad which is a Rupert Brooke themed version of a Greek salad but with the twist of having beetroot added to it.
The staff were very friendly and efficient and we loved sitting in the garden under a large umbrella looking out across the meadows.
Definitely worth a visit
