A review of The Plough by CEJ written on Monday 6th of August 2007
Went to the Plough yesterday at Sunday lunchtime. As it was hot we waited a while for an outside patio table (you can't eat in the beer garden?!?) and when a table with a parasol came up, we were told by a waiter inside that we could have it. Sat down only to be told by another waiter that the shaded tables were reserved for the next 2 hours so we had to move. Service was generally rude, slow and poor. Ordered a Sunday roast (beef) and when it came I asked where the veggies were (only got 1 potato, beef and yorkshire pud) and was told 'the roast does not come with vegetables' My friend wanted mayo with his overcooked burger and was told it had 'run out'. Not impressed - won't be back despite its amazing beer garden..
