A review of Thorntons by Mark Mywords written on Tuesday 10th of June 2003
I don't think I've ever paid for Thornton's chocolates as I've only ever received them as gifts, and I don't complain! They're seriously tasty and I could never have too much of them. Even if they're not the cheapest, you certainly get what you pay for.
The only Thornton's product I've actually bought is their ice cream, which, like their chocolate, is among the best (and considering what an utter chocoholic I am, it is quite some achievement for me to be able to say that). I'm not sure if they still do it, but they used to put a free flake thing in every ice cream. Which was nice.
I always found the service excellent too. On one occasion they had run out of the free flakes so I was deprived (no big deal, I thought, as these things happen), but the next time I went in there (a week or two later) I was served by the same lady, who recognised me and not only gave me my free flake, but also a second one "to make up for last time" plus a third one "just for luck"! That's what I call superb service!
