In my experience, returning a faulty tool at Aldi in North Bristol (the only sort of product I buy at Aldi) was never a problem - the salesperson (cashier) would simply ask what was wrong and accept the description, refunding on the spot.

Likewise, when a chuck broke down on a tabletop drill unit, the same sales clerk provided connection to manufacturer and a new chuck was sent to me without delay.
