A review of The Fort St George by Bob written on Friday 4th of January 2008
I am surprised this pub is still in business after witnessing first hand the way the landlord treats its patrons. A group of friends and I were just finishing off our conversations after several rounds of drinks, and our empty glasses had been collected by the bar staff. We were then extremely offensively told that our presence was no longer welcome, we presume because we weren't willing to contribute money towards the jukebox, which had been playing very loud music for the couple of hours we were there. It was a pity that the pub was almost empty so not many others experienced the foul language we were spoken to with. I will certainly never set foot in this pub again, which is a shame as I had been reasonably impressed on my many previous visits. Presumably the landlord finds turning custom away from a almost empty pub to his advantage. .
