"Any chance of refund"

I purchased an electric kettle at the end of November from the St Helens aldi store.

I returned with it when it stopped working about eight weeks later.

As it was over 30 days after purchase and I didn't have the box I was told that they couldn't do anything about it but maybe I could sort it out on the website.

Luckily I hadn't purchased my computer/internet from there also so I was able to go on website which appears to be no use when trying to get a refund.

Surely an electric kettle is expected to have a longer life than eight weeks or have I missed something in the Aldi culture.
