A review of Six Bells by Demmy written on Friday 25th of April 2008
When you first walk into the Six Bells it appears small - but then you'll find there's a lovely clean and cosy lounge area through the back, and beyond that, a snooker room looking out onto a yard with bench tables. The landlord is a genial dry-humoured host who turns out a delicious range of homely sandwiches, english style meals, and a mouth-watering killer roast at the weekend. The portions are always generous which is astounding when combined with the quality. They host a quiz at the beginning of every week and occasionally have some music on the weekends. The beers are all well kept, resulting in the rich, clean-tasting, fresh quality that only comes from a caring approach. It's one of those places you'd like to keep as your own little secret - so it'll always be there for you to return to - knowing that it will still be an untainted little gem among the pubs of Cambridge..
