". . . at an average price of £10 each this is £1000, multiply this by 6500 stores this is a lot of money and will only put up the price of your shopping." and "we are a low budget low margin company and unfortunately cannot afford to keep replacing baskets"
Can I comment on this from the point of view of an agent that supplies baskets to supermarkets? I think he's off his trolley . . .
If Martin was talking about ALDI in the UK - perhaps he meant to say that ALDI have (and this is straight off their UK website), over 300 stores (and not 6500!)
Can I also say that a basic supermarket basket costs less than £5 (and not £10). I believe Martin is referring to rolling baskets. Can I point out to him that Diverserank Ltd can supply these complete with an anti theft RFID device for less than £10 total cost, and that research shows that rolling baskets increase profitability - i.e. rolling baskets would DECREASE the cost of a customers shopping rather than increase it (this is assuming that ALDI makes more profit and then reduces their prices) - and so everyone would be better off. If he would like to contact me I'm sure we could help him keep his baskets safe.
