Aldi aim to provide the best possible product in the market but only offer one variation to improve their buying power. In addition to this they build smaller stores than the 'big 4' and operate them very efficiently. By not providing free carrier bags, asking customers to pack their own bags, not accepting credit cards, only having trolleys, merchandising on pallets and having energy efficient equipment in the stores they save money on overhead, allowing them to operate with lower margins whilst rewarding the staff well for their hard work.
