A review of Prezzo by Thomas written on Friday 19th of December 2008
Ten of us visited Prezzo in Cambridge on 19 December 2008. It is undoubtedly the worst 'restaurant' in Cambridge. The food tasted like it'd come out of a tin. The pasta dishes were greasy, overcooked and lacking in any taste. The pizzas were similarly tasteless and insipid. The house wines were possibly the worst vinegary reds we have ever tasted.
As if the food wasn't bad enough, the service was appalling. Brusque to the point of rudeness, and a general feeling that we were 'putting them out' by being there. Several of our dishes had to be sent back because they were inedible, and the replacements were banged down on the table with a surliness rarely encountered out of Paris.
We refused to pay the automatic 10% service charge added to our bill, and the Manager took a 'couldn't care less' attitude to the whole experience. There was a table of 12 next to us who, upon speaking to them, had had a similarly appalling meal.
Total waste of money and time. I suggest you avoid it at all costs. .
