A review of Flying Pig by Carl written on Saturday 7th of February 2009
We came down from Bolton, As we were walking around trying to get our bearings I spotted "The Flying Pig". For me and Linda it was a no brainer, a pub with a name like that just had to be explored. As we crossed the street I was hoping that the inside justified the name. It DID!! We had come down to meet friends and go Cambridge Junction to watch the Buzzcocks. (we're getting on now but there's nothing like being 18 again).
The Flying Pig just fit the bill. the landlord was freindly and all the staff were the same. we had lunch the following day, quality food.
I am sure that to many people it would be considered a dive, but the closer you look the more you realise its ecclectic charm. The clientele were friendly and the atmosphere was one of comfort.
TOP PUB!!.
