A review of Browns Restaurant by Evil Dr K written on Saturday 25th of April 2009
Having read the previous 5 reviews here on Browns, and seen that they were all negative, I have to add another one to that list. We visited today and were lured in by the sign outside in the street that mentioned lunch menu from £5.95. Sure enough, on the table inside was the same menu (although only 2 dishes are in fact £5.95, the others are all more expensive). However, when we came to order, it was pointed out to us (rather rudely I felt) that this was only monday - thursday. Why then is the board outside and these menus on the table?
Never order the burgers here - they are nigh-on inedible and vastly overpriced. You can find much better burgers at the Green Man in Trumpington or indeed almost any other pub in town. Service quite good otherwise, but the food quality leaves an awful lot to be desired.....as does the false advertising!
We'll only go back by mistake......
